A family company
In 1966, Heinz Hankammer laid the foundations for the company of today – BRITA – with hand-made filter cartridges that he produced in his garden. Since those early days we have become an innovative market leader in the field of improved drinking water. Under the leadership of Markus Hankammer, a second-generation family member, we have gone from strength to strength. As a family-owned company, we understand that energy, professionalism, commitment, and creativity are valuable human qualities that cannot simply be exhausted.
Expert in water optimization and individualization "
“Everyone should have the greatest possible drinking water experience – according to their own individual needs.” Whether from a carafe or directly from the tap, at your favorite café around the corner, whether simply filtered or cooled and sparkling – BRITA makes it possible for everyone to create their ideal type of water in various ways.
Talent Developer
At BRITA, we place great emphasis on education and training because our employees are our most valuable resource. We support you and offer modern and effective development opportunities. It is important for us to realize your full potential and to prepare talents from our own ranks for leadership positions. With our international leadership development program called BOLD ("BRITA Opportunities for Leadership Development"), we offer targeted support to young employees who have demonstrated outstanding performance and a high level of commitment, qualifying them for future leadership roles. And it's a great success since more than 60% of our executives come from within our own ranks.
Passionately Sustainable
Sustainability is more important than ever today. The climate is changing, the oceans are filled with waste, and entire animal species are facing extinction. At BRITA, we take responsibility for our actions and the environment. We are actively engaged in environmental protection. We have our own recycling program for our products in order to process the raw materials used and to reintroduce them into the production cycle. With projects like "Balance the impact," we strive to reduce our company-wide CO2 emissions, such as through the use of renewable energy at various locations. At our headquarters in Taunusstein, we even have 300,000 little helpers on board – bees! These little insects do a massive amount to help the environment.
