Application tips

Checklist of application documents
In any case, we need your curriculum vitae. If you also send us a covering letter and your certificates as well as diplomas, we will be happy to receive them.
Please make sure that your documents comply with the common file formats.

The covering letter
In your covering letter, you should introduce yourself briefly and concisely. The covering letter should complement the CV and not repeat it. When writing your cover letter, put yourself in the reader's shoes: Would you invite the author for an interview based on the covering letter?
Some questions you should address in the cover letter are the following:

  • Why are you interested in the position?
  • What qualifications do you bring to the table?
  • Why should we hire you of all people?
  • Why exactly does this job posting appeal to you?
  • What do you expect from BRITA?

Your CV
Your CV should tell us about your career to date. Here are a few tips for a good resume:

  • Build the resume in tabular form
  • Start with the present and lead us to your last positions
  • List a few meaningful bullet points about each station: one to two pages will suffice
  • Use a common format and an easily readable font
  • Pay attention to the format

Overall impression
If your covering letter has spelling mistakes or the documents are in the incorrect order, this can quickly appear unprofessional. Take the time to read through everything once again. This can help you to spot any errors. We have summarized some common sources of error:

  • Spelling: Are there any mistakes? Perhaps ask a friend to check your documents one last time.
  • Documents: Are all the required documents in the correct file format and quality and have they been properly attached?
  • Sequence: Have I added the documents in the right sequence?
  • Uniformity: Have I used a uniform font and font size and uniform line spacing?
