How to apply

Current vacancies
You can find all of our current vacancies here. That link will take you to all of the positions we are hiring for in the UK at the moment, but you can also use that search page to look at vacancies across the wider BRITA family. You'll be able to filter by job functions and locations to find the opportunities that best suit you.

There is always the option to sign up and create an account even if there is not an open position that suits you right now, and if you do this you will be able to set alerts to inform you if the right position becomes available to apply for.

The application process
We manage applications and our recruiting process via an online system, an Applicant Tracking System (or ATS). We do this so that all applicants are considered together via a common process, and so that we can be sure we handle your private information properly. You will be asked to create an account as part of the application process, as well as uploading a CV, and we do this so that we can be sure we handle your application and information correctly.

As part of your application you might be asked specific questions, for example about your right to work in the UK, or particular skills and qualifications needed for a position, and it may be that your answers to those questions could lead to your application being automatically declined. In every other case your application will be reviewed by a member of our team, we do not use any automated or AI filtering in our application process.

The reason we ask you to set up an account is to ensure we have your consent to process your personal information (CV and application details), allow you to manage your communication preferences and give you the control over how visible your details are to our hiring teams across the BRITA family.

When you set up an account, you'll see options to add details about your work and education history, but these are not mandatory to apply for a position. All we ask from you is for contact details (email address and a phone number), a CV to be uploaded and for you to agree to us processing your personal information. Without that processing consent, we are not able to review any application and consider you for a position (and in that case any application will be automatically declined).

What to do if you don't have a CV?
Don't worry, a CV is just a document to show what you've done so far in your working life and education. It's quite simple to create a basic CV, and there are some good (free) guides online that can help you in writing one; the UK Government site here is a good place to start.

Some tips and thoughts when applying

  • If possible, use a Word or PDF file format for your CV
  • Put your name in the filename for your CV
  • Get someone else to read your CV before you submit it anywhere - spellcheck is great at spotting spelling mistakes, but it doesn't pick up things like typing the wrong year by accident in your job history!
  • Think about the job you are applying for when you are checking your CV - is it clear and simple when reading your CV to see where you have gained the experience or used the skills that the job advert asks for?
  • Make sure you keep an eye on your junk folders in the email you use once you have applied - sometimes systems can be a little overzealous about filtering and messages from us can end in there!

Reasonable adjustments

If you need any adjustments or support before or during the interview process – whether that’s preparation materials, accessibility arrangements, or anything else – please let us know. We’re here to ensure you feel confident and supported every step of the way.

Interviews and Selection

Interviewing with BRITA
Our process normally goes through 2 or 3 step:

  • Phone or video call with our recruitment team - this will be to understand more about you beyond what is on your CV and to give you a chance to ask those first questions
  • Video call - this will be with the manager of the position and usually focusses in more on the skills and competencies for the job
  • In-person interview in our office - this will be with the manager of the position and sometimes more senior managers if that is appropriate to the job

That middle step is not always needed for every job, and we'll make sure we tell you at the first interview stage what the process will be for the job you are interviewing for.

Timescales for interviewing
We do our best to complete interview processes in good time, but business demands and holiday periods can sometimes make that challenging! We will give you an idea at the first interview stage of the of the likely timelines and when we expect to be holding the different stages. We do our best to make decisions quickly after interviews, and come back to you with those decisions and feedback as quickly as we can.

How do we interview?
We believe very strongly that interviewing is a two-way process. We want you to ask as many questions as you want to, because you need to be sure that we are the right choice for you just as much as we need to find out if you are the right person for our position. When we are asking questions, if you are unclear about what we are asking don't be afraid to ask us to clarify or rephrase, that is never a problem for us.

We want you to be as relaxed and comfortable as you can be during the process. Please tell us if you need any adjustments at any point and we will do our best to accommodate you.

When we interview it will be a mix of talking through your previous work experience to understand what you have done before and the skills you have learned and used, and competency style questions. Competency style questions are things like, " Can you tell us about a time when you worked to a difficult deadline?" The goal with these kind of questions is talk about real examples from your working life and give you a chance to showcase how you have used your abilities and skills in live situations. When thinking about how to answer these kinds of questions there are some good resources online that you can take a look at the prepare, the UK Government guide to the STAR method is a good place to start, which you can find here.

Testing and tasks
We will sometimes use online testing or presentation tasks as part of our recruitment process, depending on the job we are recruiting for. We'll always tell you whether we are going to do that at that very first interviewing stage with the recruiting team. If we do this, it is normally at the final stage of interviews, and we will make sure you are fully briefed on what we want you to do and have enough time to prepare if needed.
